Country Warmth is committed to supporting local food suppliers both as a business and on a personal level. We are proud to be part of a thriving market town that relies on local trade for its income.
For Aga’s local life campaign we are running two cookery demonstrations. The first is an evening promotion. Aimed more at prospective Aga customers we shall be demonstrating the benefits of cooking on an Aga, but using only locally sourced products. We will be using locally reared pork from Quartons Farm shop. Organic vegetables from Paradise Organics, and cheese, dairy products and bread from The Farmers Cart. All these outlets are no more than 10 miles from our shop. They specialise in low food miles produce, most of which is grown to organic standards.
Our second cookery demonstration is a more specialised event. Marketed to all existing Aga owners as well as through the above mentioned retail outlets. It offers in depth cookery tuition on specialist themes. We have chosen late summer entertaining to allow us to include a wide spread of recipes. Within this topic we shall be repeating our successful seafood theme to tie in with the National Seafood week. We are lucky to have the support of Malton Fisheries for this demonstration.
In addition every day throughout the month bacon sandwiches will be available in the mornings to interested customers, all using Quartons home produced bacon. Cakes baked by our in house demonstrator will be available for ‘afternoon tea’.
Literature and information about these products will be available in the shop.
THE COOK SCHOOL
The new cookery school in our upstairs showroom has been a great success. We have been running a series of demonstrations such as winter warmers, fast food for friends and family, vegetarian food for all and summer sizzlers.
Places in the cookery school sell out quickly so if you would like to be kept informed of future demonstration dates please register your details either by -telephoning 01653 694699 or -emailing claire@countrywarmth.co.uk
